Thanks for stopping by. Unfortunately, I am not taking any doula clients at this time.
PREPARE YOURSELF.
You want to have a satisfying birth experience. Perhaps it's your first time around, or maybe you've been down this road before.
You've spoken to your doctor or midwife. You've read a few books. Maybe you've taken a hospital birth class. But these things aren't cutting it. They don't give you all the information and support you need, and they don't take into account your unique personality, desires, or circumstances. You find yourself thinking that one of the biggest obstacles to having the birth you envision might be not being adequately equipped to do so.
You need something more. You need to prepare yourself in a whole new way. But how?
How about having someone by your side who's been there, personally and professionally? Someone who's a guide, a teammate, a cheerleader, a database. Someone who knows birth, knows breastfeeding, knows just how intimidating and overwhelming giving birth and becoming a parent can be. Someone who understands your desire for a healthy baby and a positive birth experience -- and who can help make it happen.
Imagine what that would be like.
What if we arranged a birth preparation strategy session to find out what your needs are and whether we're a good match for one another? If it turns out that we are, then we'll work together through a simple yet empowering process that will help you feel ready for this once-, twice-, six-times-in-a-lifetime experience.

CONFIDENCE.
Whether you've given birth before or not you're a bit nervous. Intimidated even.
And all the conversations with friends and all the online pregnancy forums, while beneficial, just aren't building your confidence in the way you'd like. And if you haven't found anyone to discuss your concerns with, well, that's probably not making you feel any more sure of yourself either.
What will help give you the confidence you need to feel capable of giving birth and having it be a positive experience?
Consulting with someone who listens to your concerns, offers suggestions and reassurance through your struggles, and backs your choices on your journey to parenthood.

CHOOSING A SUPPORT TEAM DOESN'T HAVE TO BE.
You're probably pretty low frills. You don't regularly get your nails done or color your hair or wax things. You wear little makeup, if any at all. Your idea of a good time is a glass of wine with a few good friends or a hike overlooking Lake Tahoe.
And your plan for having a baby probably involves as little intervention as possible. Most likely you even want to do it without pain medication.
Although you generally value simplicity and self-sufficiency, skimping on outside support doesn't seem like it's going to work in this situation.
A doula then? Yes, that might be just what you need. Just the thing to help you feel prepared, confident, and supported, so you can have the birth you desire.
Please scroll through the site. Ask youself if what you see feels right. If it does, let's schedule that birth preparation strategy session to figure out if I'm the right person to serve you.
I look forward to connecting with you.
I'm Ashley Kim, Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Lactation Educator Counselor. I'm passionate about helping parents have peaceful, satisfying birth experiences and feel confident about their role as mom or dad.
I wanted to have a natural delivery, and Ashley helped me prepare throughout my pregnancy by sharing her knowledge and resources and really helping both my husband and I to feel educated about the labor and delivery process. During my labor she helped ease my back pain with compression techniques and was an amazing cheerleader helping me stay positive and confident throughout the difficult process of natural labor. When I look back on the birth of my son I feel truly happy that I was able to bring him into the world in the way that I wanted to, and Ashley played a huge role in that. Having Ashley as our doula was one of the best decisions we've ever made and I would highly recommend her to anyone who is considering hiring a doula, which everyone should!
